• Pick-up and drop-off from your hotel is included in the price of the excursion
Detailed itinerary:
1. You will be picked up form your hotel at around 6:00pm, and from there we will drive to your evening’s dinner, a delectable meal of Peking Duck, Beijing’s signature culinary dish. Peking Duck is prepared from specially-bred Beijing crammed duck with a unique roasting process, which gives it a perfect combination of color, aroma and taste, a crisp thin skin and a mouth-melting and delicious flavor.
2. After your dinner, we’ll drive through the heart of the city, passing by the Tiananmen Square and Gate, before we reach the Lao She Teahouse. It is located in the busy shopping area to the west of the Qianmen Gate Arrow Tower on the southern edge of Tian'anmen Square. It opened for business in 1988 as the first teahouse in new Beijing, marking the rejuvenation of the teahouse culture of old Beijing. It is named for Lao She, the writer of China's famous pre-revolutionary play Tea House. The atmosphere reflects the time and sentiments of a bygone era, when Chinese intellectuals were experimenting with Western ideas and war and instability were rocking Beijing. Tea is the major draw and there is a great snack menu including dried plums, pastries and baozi (steamed buns). A troupe of aria-singing actors regularly take to the stage in this enormous teahouse and theater to perform snippets of Peking Opera.
3. After your time at Lao She Teahouse, you will be taken back to your hotel and dropped off. |
