The Huangpu River Cruise (Pujiang
Cruise)
This evening tour is the perfect way to
complete your day in Shanghai. On our tour you will be able to
go on an evening cruise of the Huangpu River, Shanghai's central
river, giving you great views of the Puxi (with the Bund) and
Pudong skylines, and the neon and lights that fill up the sky.
You’ll also get to walk down China’s best shopping street
Nanjing Road, as well as exploring the trendy Xintiandi area.
This tour also includes a dinner of Shanghai cuisine, as well as
your own English-speaking guide. And of course, you’ll be picked
up and dropped off at your hotel, giving you a stress-free night
to enjoy the lights and charms of the Shanghai evening. |

You will be picked up
your local guide and driver at 6:00pm. |

For dinner, we will head to a local
restaurant to sample some of the Shanghai
cuisine. The dishes of Shanghai are known
for their fresh, clear, mellow, sweet,
spicy, and subtle tastes, and is quite
different from Sichuan or other regional
styles. (1 hr) |

Following dinner, you’ll go on an evening cruise of the Huangpu River,
Shanghai’s central river that divides the
city into two parts. It i s one of the best
ways to see both old and new Shanghai. From
the deck of your riverboat watch the
buildings of the Bund slip past, and the
glittering cityscapes of east and west. City
lights at night provide a glorious
technicolor spectacle, with Puxi and the
Bund in the east and the glittering high
rises of Pudong in the west. (1 hr) |

Following the cruise we will take a walk
down Nanjing Road, Shanghai’s premier
shopping street. Open-air bars, abstract
sculptures, and lingering sounds from street
musicians enhance evening strolls. A
trackless sightseeing train provides a
comfortable tour of the night-transformed
pedestrian street. Flashing neon signs
illuminate the magnificent buildings and
spangle the night skyline, giving you the
impression of a Tokyo or New York. (30 min) |

From Nanjing Road we’ll come to the
People’s Square. Once known as the gambling
house and a racecourse honored as the "No.1
racecourse in Far East", the People's Square
is now a political, commercial and cultural
center of Shanghai downtown area. The square
is hoe to many of the city’s cultural
attractions, such as the Shanghai
Museum, the Shanghai Grand Theater, and
the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall.

We’ll cap off your night with a walk
through Xintaindi. Xintiandi is a trendy
cultural and entertainment center built with
a combination of Shikumen and the modern
architecture. The Shikumen building was
created by converting residential blocks
into a multifunctional dining, retail and
entertainment center with many restaurants,
boutiques, cafes and bars of international
standard. Xintiandi is one of the busiest
urban tourist attractions and imbued with
the city's historical and cultural legacies.

dropped off at your hotel by 10:30pm, ending
