About Zhengzhou Local Tour
Located
at the junction of the Beiing-Guagnzhou and Longhai Railways in the
central part of Henan Province, Zhenzhou is the provincial capital. It is
a time-honored city as well as a heroic city with a revolutionary
tradition. It took shape of a town named Aodu as early as 3500 years ago.
It is here that the Beijing-Hankou Railway workers held the famous
February 7th Strike in 1923, making the city well known.
The historical sites and scenic spots in and near the city include Mount
Songshan, Shaolin Temple, the Pagoda forest, Zhongyue Temple, the
Astronomical Observatory, the Northern Song Tombs, the Grotto Temple, the
Dahecun Ruins of the Neolithic Age, the Ruins of Shang City, the Han Toms
and the Scenic Area at the Yellow River.
