Detailed itinerary
Day 1 · Beijing-Huanghuacheng-Xishuiyu
Travel from Beijing to Huanghuacheng and begin along the reservoir landscape toward Xishuiyu. The Wall rises above wooded slopes before descending toward the water, where low-lying sections were submerged when the reservoir filled. Follow the accessible ridges and connecting paths, then settle at the approved campsite for the first evening outdoors.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight: Planned Great Wall camp, subject to permission.
Day 2 · Jiankou to Mutianyu
Today links Jiankou’s rough mountain defenses with the repaired towers of Mutianyu. The change in construction condition is a highlight, but steep approaches and broken surfaces require attention throughout. Take rests at suitable viewpoints rather than pushing for every summit. The second camp is arranged at a location approved for that departure.

Day 3 · Gubeikou-Jinshanling-West Simatai
The longest combination of the program follows the Gubeikou–Jinshanling–West Simatai corridor. Weathered towers and older masonry give way to more substantial ramparts as the trail crosses successive ridges. Local access determines the precise connection and finishing point. After a full day on foot, spend the final camping night near the Wall.

Day 4 · Peace Fort-Huangyaguan-Sky Ladder-Sanjiebei
Explore Peace Fort and Huangyaguan before approaching the Sky Ladder and the route toward Sanjiebei. The steep staircase is a fitting final challenge after three days of varied hiking. Your guide confirms the available higher sections and turning point. Descend for lunch, then complete the return transfer to Beijing.
