Afternoon pickup from Beijing
Your driver and guide collect you at a time agreed for the season. Allow approximately 1.5–2 hours to reach Mutianyu, with extra time when traffic is heavy. The schedule is built around the scenic area’s opening hours and the time needed to return from the Wall.
Walk at your own pace
Once on the ramparts, choose a section suited to your group. You can concentrate on a few towers and photographs or continue farther along the stepped ridge. The forested setting and substantial watchtowers make Mutianyu a rewarding choice for visitors who want a restored Great Wall experience.
Enjoy the evening light
Your guide helps select viewpoints for the later part of the afternoon. Fewer day groups may remain than at midday, but visitor numbers vary, particularly during holidays.
This tour is designed for late light and sunset opportunities where operating hours allow. On dates when the site closes before sunset, we confirm the latest permitted visit rather than promising an after-hours stay.
Descend and return privately
Use the agreed descent route or an available lift option, then meet your driver for the return to Beijing. The precise hotel arrival depends on the season and road conditions.
