Detailed itinerary
Day 1 · Gubeikou to Jinshanling
Walk the Gubeikou–Jinshanling corridor, tracing the defenses through a strategic mountain landscape. The older towers at Gubeikou and more substantial structures nearer Jinshanling offer varied subjects for photographs and discussion. The day introduces the pace of the trek before an overnight at the Jinshanling-area hostel named in the program.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight: Jinshanling Hostel.
Day 2 · Jinshanling to West Simatai
Explore the Jinshanling–West Simatai ridge, using the entrances and direction confirmed for your date. Differences between repaired paths and weathered masonry are especially clear along this corridor. After descending, follow the transfer to the Jiankou area. Your proposal identifies whether the overnight arrangement is a countryside hostel or an approved camp.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight: Jiankou Hostel.
Day 3 · Jiankou Trek
Spend a separate day hiking within the Jiankou area. The emphasis is on its steep ridges, old towers and views across wooded valleys rather than immediately pushing through to Mutianyu. The guide selects a suitable route for your group and current access. Descend to the village inn for dinner and a rest.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight: Laohe's Inn.
Day 4 · Jiankou to Mutianyu
Continue from Jiankou toward restored Mutianyu. The change in tower condition and walkway surface marks the day’s progression, while the mountain panorama remains a constant companion. After descending, travel to Huanghuacheng. The planned program includes a camping night there, with the permitted location and equipment confirmed in your proposal.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight: Camping.
Day 5 · Huanghuacheng Lakeside
Finish above the Huanghuacheng reservoir, following the accessible Wall and linking trails toward the lakeside views. Stone ramparts dip toward the water beneath wooded ridges, giving the final day a different character from Jiankou. After lunch, the team completes the return transfer specified in your itinerary.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch.
Planning your visit
The quote confirms whether the second night uses an inn or a permitted camp. The remaining stays combine village lodging with a planned Huanghuacheng camping night, subject to local access.
