Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in the capital
Meet your arrival team and transfer to the hotel. The first day remains flexible after your journey.
Day 2: Imperial geometry
Explore the Forbidden City with attention to gates, courtyards, alignment and the hierarchy of buildings. Continue to Jingshan Park, where the elevated view makes the palace plan easier to understand. Your guide relates the ground-level details to the wider north–south layout of the city.
Day 3: Engineering at Jinshanling
Travel to the Great Wall at Jinshanling. Follow a suitable ridge section to compare towers, parapets and the relationship between construction and terrain. This is an active field visit, with steep steps and uneven surfaces, so the route is set around your walking ability.
Day 4: Ceremony, faith and royal leisure
Visit the Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple and Summer Palace. Their differing forms, materials and settings invite comparison: ceremonial geometry, religious space and a landscape designed for leisure. The walking sequence is arranged to give each site a clear role in the day.
Day 5: Contemporary city forms
Explore Shougang Park’s industrial reuse, the National Centre for the Performing Arts and the Shijia Hutong Museum. A China World Trade Center observation-deck visit offers another perspective on the modern skyline. Interior access and the order of visits depend on the confirmed reservations.
Day 6: Departure and an airport perspective
Transfer to the airport. If your flight departs from Daxing and time permits, the terminal architecture can form the final observation point of the journey.
