Day 1: Hotel arrival
Your driver meets you at the airport and takes you to the hotel. Use the remaining time to settle in before the sightseeing begins.
Day 2: The palace and Shichahai lanes
Visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City according to the reserved entry arrangements. Continue to Jingshan Park, then explore the Shichahai hutongs. The day moves from formal ceremonial spaces to smaller residential lanes. A rickshaw option can be discussed in advance rather than assumed as part of every departure.
Day 3: Mutianyu and Ming heritage
Travel to the restored Great Wall at Mutianyu for a walk suited to your group. Continue with Changling and the Sacred Way, linking the mountain defenses with the burial heritage of the Ming emperors. The guide coordinates walking time and the route between these separate sites.
Day 4: Temples and the Summer Palace
Explore the Temple of Heaven and the Lama Temple before visiting the Summer Palace. These places offer distinct architectural and religious settings, from ceremonial design to active worship and royal leisure. Allow time to walk through their grounds rather than rushing between entrances.
