Detailed itinerary
Day 1 · Arrival
Airport welcome; hotel transfer.
Your guide coordinates the meeting point and transfers around your confirmed travel arrangements. Leave the remainder of the day flexible for check-in, rest and any local walk you choose.
Day 2 · Palace & northern axis
Forbidden City; Jingshan; Wanning Bridge; Shichahai; Drum Tower area.
Walk through successive gates and courtyards, comparing ceremonial spaces with the more intimate residential areas. Your guide connects the palace layout, roof decoration and imperial symbolism with the lives of its former residents.
Climb the park’s stepped paths for a view across the palace roofs. This elevated perspective helps you understand the city’s north–south alignment; a lower-level park visit is possible if you prefer fewer steps.
Day 3 · Everyday Beijing
Morning food market; Temple of Heaven; Xicheng hutongs; courtyard culture.
Explore the ceremonial architecture and park setting. Notice the circular forms, blue roof tiles and relationship between the principal structures; the surrounding paths also offer glimpses of everyday recreation.
Explore the old lanes at an unhurried pace, noticing courtyard entrances and neighborhood businesses. Courtyard visits, rickshaws and workshops need advance arrangements rather than being assumed available on arrival.
Discuss preferences and allergies with your guide before the food stops. Tastings can be adjusted to your comfort level, and venues are chosen around opening times and the day’s route.
Day 4 · Beyond the city
Jinshanling Great Wall; Gubei Water Town; Simatai night view.
Follow the ridge between watchtowers at a pace matched to your experience. Steep stairways and uneven masonry require grippy shoes; your guide selects an entrance, exit and walking distance appropriate to the day’s conditions.
Day 5 · Imperial memorials
Changling; Sacred Way.
Your guide coordinates the meeting point and transfers around your confirmed travel arrangements. Leave the remainder of the day flexible for check-in, rest and any local walk you choose.
Day 6 · Industrial & contemporary Beijing
Shougang Park; copper hotpot; new-energy vehicle experience.
See how a former industrial site has been repurposed, with old steelworks structures standing beside contemporary public spaces. The visit adds a different perspective to a journey focused on palaces and temples.
Day 7 · Departure
Hotel checkout; airport transfer.
Your guide coordinates the meeting point and transfers around your confirmed travel arrangements. Leave the remainder of the day flexible for check-in, rest and any local walk you choose.
