Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Beijing to Hohhot by train
Take the confirmed rail service from Beijing to Hohhot, capital of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Your guide meets you at the station and transfers you to the hotel. The train and arrival time are selected to fit the next day’s drive.
Day 2: Huitengxile Grassland
Leave Hohhot after breakfast and travel to Huitengxile. The grassland landscape offers a wide horizon, with activities and scenery that vary considerably by season.
Your program can include a local household visit and an introduction to regional foods such as milk tea and dairy products. Horse riding, archery or cultural demonstrations may be offered locally, but participation, charges and suitability are checked separately rather than assumed.
Spend the night in the yurt accommodation listed in your proposal. Facilities and comfort differ from a conventional hotel, so we explain the arrangements before you book.
Day 2 meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 3: Grassland sunrise and desert scenery
Rise early for the open landscape if the weather is clear. After breakfast, drive toward the Kubuqi Desert and the Singing Sand Bay area.
Explore the dunes using the visits or activities arranged in your itinerary. The desert provides a strong contrast to the previous day’s grassland, with sand formations and broad views replacing the meadow landscape.
Return to the rail connection agreed for your journey to Beijing. The day involves substantial driving, and the train is chosen with a practical transfer margin.
Day 3 meals: breakfast and lunch.
Planning your visit
Grassland color, yurt operation and outdoor activities are seasonal. We coordinate the desert visit, driving time and rail departure before confirming this three-day route.
