A different start to the day
A sunrise walk begins long before a conventional sightseeing tour. Depending on the season and location, the plan may use a pre-dawn transfer from Beijing or an overnight stay closer to the Wall. The departure time must allow for the drive, approach path and the viewpoint selected by your guide.
Choose a suitable ridge
Gubeikou is one of the settings used for our morning programs. Its weathered towers and open ridgelines provide an atmospheric landscape as the light strengthens. A route is selected according to current access, footing and the amount of walking your group wants to do after sunrise.
Prepare for the approach
The initial walk may take place in darkness or low light. Layers, footwear and lighting arrangements need to be discussed before travel. A shorter sunrise route can be followed by a morning hike, while a longer extension requires a separate assessment of time and energy.
Keep expectations tied to conditions
Cloud, mist and rain influence the view. The purpose is to experience the Wall in the early light, rather than guarantee a particular sky. Your confirmation includes the pickup time, breakfast arrangement and expected return window.
