What to know

Begin at the coastal end

The visit focuses on the meeting of the fortifications and the sea. Instead of a long ridge walk, take time to understand how the defensive line reaches this open coastal landscape. The perspective is particularly useful before continuing to the passes and hills farther inland.

Arrange the approach from your arrival point

Our published route can begin in Beijing or the Qinhuangdao area. The practical choice depends on where you are staying and whether Old Dragon’s Head forms a separate visit or the first stop in a longer trek. Transfers and arrival timing are coordinated with the selected program.

Explore at a measured pace

Walk the areas included in your admission and pause for views of the fortifications against the water. Your guide explains the site in relation to Shanhaiguan rather than treating the coastal stop as an isolated photo opportunity. The exact visiting route follows the sections available on the day.

Continue toward Shanhaiguan

A visit to the pass or old-town area can follow when included in your itinerary. Longer coast-to-mountain programs move onward after the coastal introduction, while a focused day finishes with the transfer agreed in your booking.
