5-Day Yangtze River Cruise: Yichang to Chongqing

Day 1: Transfer to the Yichang embarkation point

Arrive in Yichang and meet the transfer arranged for your cruise. Continue to the confirmed boarding location in the Maoping area. Boarding windows and the first sailing time depend on the vessel and departure date.

Day 2: The dam area

After breakfast, follow the ship’s program around the Three Gorges Dam. The sample itinerary includes a dam sightseeing visit and optional experiences such as a ship-lift excursion or a local cultural attraction.

These choices operate on separate schedules, so the operator’s confirmed plan determines what can be combined. Return to the ship for meals and the evening program.

Day 3: Gorge scenery and tributary excursions

Spend the main scenery day cruising through the Wu and Qutang Gorge areas, following the vessel’s route. View the steep riverbanks from the deck and listen for announcements about notable features.

A smaller-boat trip to Goddess Stream or another tributary may be offered. White Emperor City and an evening historical performance also appear in the planned itinerary as possible visits. Your sailing confirmation distinguishes included excursions from optional purchases.

Day 4: Fengdu area or a longer shore outing

Continue upstream with the excursions available for the day. The proposed itinerary describes alternatives around Fengdu’s temple landscape and the Wuling Mountain rift-valley area. These are alternatives to check with the operator, not a promise that both fit the same day.

Enjoy the remaining onboard activities, then prepare for the final morning’s departure from the ship.

Day 5: Disembark in Chongqing

Have breakfast and leave the ship at the confirmed terminal. A local transfer can take you to the airport, railway station or an onward city stay.
